Q1. What is the CIWM® programme?
The Certified International Wealth Manager CIWM® is an advanced internationally recognised education programme for experienced financial, legal and other professionals in the Private banking industry.
Q2. What are the requirements to enter the CIWM® programme?
The examinations are open to anyone working in the domain of financial analysis, portfolio management, private banking, wealth management, financial planning investment advice and investment in general, provided that the admission conditions detailed below are fulfilled.
The AIWM may decide candidacy requirements according to local conditions, which may include the candidate having a local professional or other membership status in good standing, a university degree or equivalent in professional work experience, etc.
Q3. In which countries is the CIWM® programme available?
Currently, CIWM® is offered in Switzerland, the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Monaco. The programme will extend to other countries in the future.
Q4. Who offers the CIWM® programme?
The integrated education programme is delivered internationally in partnership with approved local training providers.
Q5. Am I allowed to use the corresponding designations after being awarded the diploma?
Yes, you are allowed to use the CIWM® title as in the following example:

Q6. What are the services offered with the CIWM® programme?
Features of the training programme include:
- Face-to-face workshops delivered in major international centres by leading academics and business experts in the field of wealth management
- Comprehensive course manuals, supporting readings and texts
- Portfolio management simulator allowing students to practice new skills in life-like situations
- On-line jurisdiction specific e-learning tool which enables students to put theory into practice by working through and creating case studies using realistic data and calculations
As a student of the CIWM® you will automatically become a student member of AIWM and will therefore have all of the benefits of membership, such as
- Access to various website resources (industry news, forum etc.)
- Invitations to various AIWM events
